Description
The aim of this Spring School is to present the Field Assisted Sintering Technique (also known as “Spark Plasma Sintering” SPS) as an emerging manufacturing process having a large impact on sintering and densification of inorganic materials.
The rapidly developing technique is best described by the publication rate, 150/year in 2003 to 50/month in 2009.
This one week session will present an overview of all the relevant scientific and technological aspects involved in the sintering under the influence of electric current or electric field.
To our knowledge, this is the first time such an event is organized on the topic.
